Eroe sì, perché questo è l’appellativo con cui deve essere designato quest’uomo, animato dalla voglia di vivere e di resistere agli orrori della Grande Guerra, tanto da ricevere la stimata Medaglia di Bronzo al Valor Militare; di eroe si parla quando un uomo con i soldi vinti nelle gare sfama e veste l’intera famiglia, compresi i 29 nipoti; di eroe si parla quando un uomo subisce tentativi di boicottaggio tramite le cosiddette “borracce intelligenti” e, nonostante questo, non cede e dimostra di che stoffa è fatto; di eroe si parla quando un uomo, isolato e senza squadra, affronta per tre volte il tour che è fatica, dolore, sacrificio, polvere e sudore, tutte cose che lui trasformerà in gloria. Vogliamo continuare a raccontare la sua vita e le sue imprese per non dimenticare chi ha contribuito a costruire la storia del ciclismo italiano.
