5 Il 2024 è un anno particolarmente importante e ricco per il nostro territorio e per la nostra comunità. É nel 2024 che ricorre il primo centenario della vittoria del Tour de France da parte del primo ciclista italiano che riuscì a conseguire tale successo, il nostro Ottavio Bottecchia, nato a San Martino di Colle nel 1894. Vittoria straordinaria e unica, ripetutasi anche nel 1925. A noi come Associazione Pro Loco il grande onore e orgoglio di ricordarlo e di tramandare alle future generazioni il ricordo di un valoroso sportivo che ha fatto la storia del ciclismo eroico di un tempo, di trasmettere il suo grande senso di attaccamento alla vita, alla famiglia e alla patria che tanto hanno segnato il suo vissuto tribolato e movimentato. Ottavio Bottecchia è stato riconosciuto dal nostro Consiglio Comunale e dalla Regione del Veneto quale “patrimonio etico sportivo, autentico esempio per le nuove generazioni di sportivi”. Egli infatti è stato non solo un grande sportivo, ma anche un uomo di valore e di valori; ancora oggi testimone, soprattutto per i più giovani, dell’importanza di proseguire traguardi con generosità tenacia e altruismo, così nello sport come nella vita. Ottavio Bottecchia has been recognized by our City Council and the Veneto Region as “ethical sporting heritage, an authentic example for new generations of sportsmen and women”. In fact, he was not only a great sportsman, but also a man of courage and values; he is still a witness, especially to the youngest, of the importance of pursuing goals with generosity, tenacity, and altruism, in sport as in life. En 2024, c’est le premier centenaire de la victoire du Tour de France par le premier cycliste italien à atteindre ce succès, notre Ottavio Bottecchia, né à San Martino di Colle en 1894. Victoire extraordinaire et unique, répétée en 1925. C’est pour nous, association pro loco, un grand honneur et une grande fierté de nous souvenir et de transmettre aux générations futures le souvenir d’un vaillant sportif qui a fait l’histoire du cyclisme héroïque d’autrefois, de transmettre son grand sens de l’attachement à la vie, à la famille et à la patrie qui ont tant marqué son passé troublé et mouvementé. Ottavio Bottecchia a été reconnu par notre conseil municipal et la région Vénétie comme “patrimoine éthique sportif, un exemple authentique pour les nouvelles générations de sportifs”. Il a été non seulement un grand sportif, mais aussi un homme valeureux et homme de valeur; encore aujourd’hui témoin, surtout pour les plus jeunes, de l’importance de poursuivre des objectifs avec générosité, ténacité et altruisme, dans le sport comme dans la vie.
